Thanksgiving for the Needy
November is the month for giving thanks. And what better way to give thanks than to those in need. ADA Member Jessie Hagan has been doing her “Thanksgiving For the Needy” for the past 4 years. Her and a close group of friends get together on Thanksgiving morning, load up the car with donations & supplies then head to downtown St. Louis. Their aim, to give to the homeless, people in need and to support the community as we get into the colder months.
Jessie created a Facebook page to get the word out to her friends, family and co-workers. Her goal this year was to gain as many supplies as possible and to set a monetary goal of $400.00 for the cause.
“Through social media and networking I’ve been able to reach over $360 from my Facebook fundraiser alone! I’ve also had people reach out and donate supplies, clothes tote bags, backpacks, etc. I’m so incredibly thankful for the support I’ve received for this cause. What we’re going to be able to provide to the homeless on Thanksgiving is truly amazing. (We also pass out free hugs)”, she adds.
While checking out her Facebook page I noticed that she needed some plastic or draw string bags to hold all the items in for the homeless. That’s when I reached out to our partner GLD Products as they graciously gave us a ton of Viper Darts draw string bags this year for our National Championship. I asked them if they didn’t mind contributing to Jessie’s cause. And as we predicted, they immediately said Yes! We would like to thank again GLD Products/Viper Darts for their continued support! Check out all that GLD has to offer HERE.
“Thank you so so much to the partners of ADA & GLD Products for your generous donation of drawstring backpacks. They will be filled with goods to help those who need it”.

It is truly a joy to be able to give back to the community with the help of so many kind hearts.
