Dunn’s Florist Partners up with the ADA Area 633

Call Owner/Operator Carey Dunn of Dunn’s Florist in Wentzville and I go way back, deep into high school back that is.  So pondering the past with the two of us sitting around at one of those “high school parties” talking one day about not only playing darts together, but then partnering up our businesses in St. Charles County would just be silly…..

Until now……

The American Dart League of St. Charles County welcomes our newest partner Dunn’s Florist!  Dunn’s Florist is located at 532 W Pearce Blvd Wentzville MO 63385.  You can also check them out here: www.dunnsflorist.net 

As I interview Carey I realize not only with her and I, but our companies are very similar in a few ways.  For example the businesses are both family owned and operated and have been operating for at least 25 years!

She has been involved with the Florist Shop since she was 9 years old.  When she turned 21 she went full time, “I’ve always been involved with Dunn’s, its kind of expected with a family venture” she adds.  I hear that!

But its not just the immediate family that has been involved, “over the years we’ve enjoyed generous help from our family and friends. My grandmother used to sit and answer phones for us; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends have all helped all holidays; My brother, Danny Halleman, has always been a big source of support, and my dad Tim, since retirement has become our resident handyman! My mom always felt strongly about creating community within the business and it has always started with family!” she explains.  When asked about her favorite thing about Dunn’s:

“Just being apart of people’s lives in a pretty understated way, from welcoming a new baby, to a bride’s dream bouquet becoming a reality, or providing a loving impression to someone’s last moments, and all of life’s celebrations in between. The comfort that flowers bring is incomparable, and that is what drives what I do.” 

Her Father Tim assisted her in getting involved with darts as a kid.  When he and his buddies went to the local establishment for Happy Hour, Carey would ask for their change and pump those quarters into the dart machines.  Now all that practice has paid off!  Carey has been involved in the ADA for over a decade now and is even a Division Rep for our Wednesday Night Neutralizer Doubles league.

When Carey isn’t at darts or her second home (work) she enjoys playfully harassing her teenage son, making a mean meal in the kitchen or just socializing with friends.  Which is good as I get to see her two fold.
