James ‘Wades’ in with Unicorn!
UNICORN DARTS PRESS RELEASE
James ‘Wades’ in with Unicorn!
James Wade has agreed a new long-term deal with Unicorn which will see the partnership between the sport’s top left-hander and the world’s leading darts company reach the 15-year mark!
“I have been very proud to represent Unicorn for many, many years and look forward to our successful partnership continuing,” the World No.6 said.
“Unicorn has provided me with superb darts to do my job. Now it is up to me to repay them with more big TV titles,” he added.
“The dream of being World Champion with Unicorn drives me on. I have a big year coming up. Losing badly to Gary Anderson in quarter-finals of the World Championship was a huge disappointment, because I simply didn’t turn up for the biggest match of the year.”
“But that defeat will spur me on. I have the Premier League in my sights. I know it will be tough because it is arguably the most competitive field ever assembled with the top 10 in the world taking part, but I am good enough to reach the play-offs,” Wade said.
Wade is not surprisingly optimistic about the future. He got married last year and wife Sammi is very much involved in his career which has been a massive help….and of course, he now has the darting legend that is Eric Bristow in his corner.
“Eric is great. He doesn’t much about. He tells it how it is and the partnership works for me. My scoring power is appreciably better and the words of wisdom mean a great deal. I now have to put it all into practice consistently in tournament play,” Wade admitted.
Unicorn Managing Director Edward Lowy said: “We are delighted to extend our association with James for another three years. Our culture at Unicorn is to build enduring relationships with all our players and to offer them the best possible support.”
“It is vital they know that we are there with them when they toe the oche in the outrageously competitive world of the PDC. We strive to make Unicorn the constant quality partner, in terms of support and equipment, that they can rely on.”
Mr Lowy added: “We are now into our second decade working with James and know it is only a matter of time before he adds to his incredible haul of seven ‘Majors’.”
And Wade is aiming to do exactly that at The Masters in Milton Keynes at the end of the month.

Unicorn also has Gary Anderson…so I’m sure they’re quite happy with the World Championship results the last 2 years.
