2018 ADA Mid America Regional Wrap Up
2018 Mid America Regional Wrap Up
By Karl Remick, ADA VP
Darts, Dog Track, Sam Adams ’76 and a great group of members means another Mid America Regional has been completed! Each March members from all over the country, Texas, Virginia, Florida and of course the heart of Tennessee, to name a few states come up the escalator to the second floor of Southland Park Gaming and Racing to bet on their odds to win each darts event. Southland Park Gaming and Racing is located at 1550 N. Ingram Blvd. West Memphis, AR. A shout out to our gracious host Preston Printup for another successful experience!
With the help of our fantastic ADA Reps nationwide, ADA members compete in both local league play and remote online leagues to gain the game counts to be eligible to compete in our 3 Day Dart Festival. It’s a pleasure to see both our ADA Rep’s and members each March under one roof in our annual Regional “Family” Reunion.
All matches were played on Radikal USA Dart Machines with brackets ran by our partners Edwin McCammack & Jeff Mahan and help from our counterparts, USDC Board Members Rich Lough and Mike Lorts. If you battled your way through the brackets, you ended up in our Finals Stage “cage” and streamed for the whole internet to see provided by USA Dart Productions leader and ADA Rep Kevin Malenfant. USA Dart Productions can be checked out on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/USADartsStreamed/
In between and during matches members were able to sample the newest juggernaut lager Sam Adams ’76. This beverage is a unique union of craft and lager with an easy finish. This beer was well received by our members throughout the weekend. Haven’t seen the ad for it yet: https://www.samueladams.com/
While we were sad to see our last Vendor go we welcomed another partner and longtime friend Ken McCowan from Nine Dart Out. Ken had a full staff and a great selection of flights, tips, jerseys and more! Feel free to check out Ken’s online shop here: https://ninedartout.com/
Along with the $10,000+ total cash prize for the weekend, the Singles winners on Saturday and Sunday received a FREE Set of Bottelsen Darts for their accomplishments! The winners were ecstatic with the darts and some even switch out their own to start trying out their new equipment. Check out Bottelsen Darts and their wide selection: http://www.bottelsendarts.com/
Lastly the weekend could have not have run without our set up crew who not only set up the ballroom but also torn it down after competing all weekend. A special thanks to Steve Orf, Tim Orf, Nathan Mills and Tim Beyer. Thank you!

Thank you members for another great year! #adafamily

I won 2 events, a 3rd In singles. And I don’t see names of anyone shown in pics or what event they won. There was absolutely no recognition for the players. I also had to ask to play on the finals board in Trips. And I got put on the 2 finals board that was not streamlined on you tube. For the money we pay as players, a little recognition would go along way for the small amount of money we got for our achievements.

Mike, thank you for the message in the relation to the above wrap up message. If you noticed both pre and now post Regional, we are working on switching over Registration systems (pre) and follow up reporting (post) Regional. Please bare with us as we design our modified reporting systems on both ends. We will do a better job with our notes we took at this Regional for ADA Nationals this year.
Both Radikal and the ADA Home Office are putting our heads together on this. Thanks again for coming and congrats on the placements!! More to come with the ADA.
