October Bud Pro Tour, trick or treat! The BPT's are held on the last Wednesday of each month, while the ADA Challenges can be any day of the week during the month.
ADA Pros take on challengers in a doubles game of 501. There is no entry fee with prizes awarded throughout the evening. Even though Pros are involved this event is not geared for the best darters. In fact, quite the opposite as this evening is a lot of fun mixed with great competitive darts.
Starting time is 8:00 PM and participants enter with the ADA management team selecting their partner through a draw doubles format. During the two hours of competition any of the teams that defeat the Pros qualify for the 10:00 PM playoff with two grand prizes awarded at the end.
Host locations change each month. Sponsorship of the program comes from the local Anheuser-Busch wholesaler. Unfortunately not all are currently involved in the program so check the “Upcoming Events” section of the ADA home page for the tavern in your market.
October Bud Pro Tour St. Charles MO
Location: Eddie’s Pub ADA
Pro: Paul Schaeffler (20.31) & Deb Kornmann (14.70)
By ADA Rep Karl Remick
Eddie’s Pub in St. Charles County is no stranger to darts. New Owner Zip Sherman of Wentzville, has been playing in the ADA off and on since 2000. She recently purchased the bar with her brother John, in the summer time and has had American Dart League play ever since. She plays both soft tip and steel tip and loves the game along with the people that play! So she was more than happy to host the October Bud Pro Tour!
Special guests that night along with challenging the Pros were Troy and Kelli Steinbrunner from Coldwater, OH. “It’s about a 5 hour trip, but we wanted to check out the Bud Pro Tour and see how it works”, commented Troy. Troy was also in town checking out the ADA to form his own ADL leagues back home. He along with Zip picked a great night to play, not only getting teamed up together but winning the whole thing as well!
ADA Pros Paul and Deb started the night losing the first 5 games. “Even though they are Pros, they can’t win every time, I mean look at Tiger Woods, he is a Pro and doesn’t win every time”, says ADA Employee Ashley Stallmann.
The night went on and the Pros seemed to settle down winning a couple in a row. The event was sponsored by Eddie’s Pub and Budweiser supplied by Krey Distributing. A special thanks to all parties!
The Pros ended up with a losing record this month going 6 - 7. Paul had a handful of great tons with Deb cleaning up closing 60% of the games won. “The challengers threw really well tonight”, said ADA Division Rep Drew Tustin, adding “it was a great night of darts”. Thanks to all the dart players and ADA members that came out for the event! See you at the next Bud Pro Tour.
