The opening of any new ADA area is an exciting occasion. One of the things that make it so is the diversity of life in the regions of our country. A national organization, like the ADA, provides a real profile of the remarkable character of the country, the differences that come together to create that unity of spirit that is America. A spirit that we think is reflected in our sport and in our organization.
2008 has been a great year for the ADA and the new ADA Leagues have been a big part of it. We thought it would be a good idea to take a tour and see some of the highlights of the American places these newest members of the ADA family call home.
STATESBORO & SAVANNAH, GEORGIA
In the 1920’s the blues master, Blind Willie McTell, wrote “Statesboro Blues”, 50 years later the Allman Brothers recorded their version and Statesboro became an internationally known place name.
Statesboro is a vibrant city, with a vigorous and varied bar and entertainment scene propelled by the youthful, constantly on the go college population of Georgia State University. Statesboro is a natural fit for the ADA and is now up and running with over 20 teams and close to 100 ADL members!
ADA Franchise Owner, Herman Metcalf

ST. ALBANS AND BRATTLEBORO, VT
The ADA now spans the “Green Mountain State”. St. Albans sits on the shores of Lake Champlain and Brattleboro borders New Hampshire.
The picture of New England that comes to mind for many of us is that of a rural Vermont scene, with the village and white church steeple half hidden in a bed of farm fields and hills, forests and winding roads. A tradition in this part of the country is to visit Vermont in the fall, when the changing season creates a palette of brilliant colors in the changing leafs, a tour known as “leaf-peeping”. That’s how we think of Vermont.
Then, there are those who, when thinking of Vermont, think only of ice cream - you know who you are!

LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA
From the Green Mountains we travel to the Blue Ridge Mountains to visit our next new ADA area. Lynchburg, VA is located in the foothills of this famous range.
American Dart League play is hosted out of the Local Order of the Moose Lodge, Local 1727. Jason Thacker has begun the team league with 6 teams and is looking to expand this next session.

PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
The Bluegrass State is home to our next area. Paducah is an old river city with an historic and picturesque downtown and a lively bar scene. Of note is that fact that a law banning smoking in local pubs has had little effect on the business and on our sport.
American Dart League is thriving run by ADA Franchise Owner Rick Wray and plans on moving south into Hopkinsville.

LAWTON, OKLAHOMA
Next stop on the tour is deep in the heart of the region once known as the “Indian Nation”. Lawton, Oklahoma still resonates with the spirit of the Old West. It was not far from here, at Fort Sill, that the famous Chief, Geronimo lived out his final days. This is cattle country and now, ADA territory as well.
ADA League Manager, Ericka Pfeifer
LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA
Here we are deep in the land of Creole and Cajun, dirty rice and file gumbo – laissez le bon temp rouler! The Mardi Gras celebration here in Lafayette is the second largest in Louisiana and the joie de vivre is second to none.
ADA Franchise Owners Larry and Stella Bordlee own the southern part of Louisiana with another new territory under their belt. Will they take over the whole “dart” state? Only time will tell…..

DENVER & GREELEY, COLORADO
The mile high city is an American sports capital and since mid 2008 has had a new team to cheer on. Rob and Codi Nelson have taken the reigns and are now expanding into the greater Denver market

That concludes our quick tour of the ADA's New Market America. We're proud to welcome our new Leagues and Members. If you would like to join one of the above American Dart Leagues or add your community please contact ADA General Manager, Karl Remick at: kremick@adadarters.com.
