This just in. The ADA has just invaded Mexico ! We're pleased to report Mexico Missouri has joined the rank and file of the ADA . On January 10, 2006, five Express Neutralizer teams came together to kick-off a new division in this small community located 30 miles northeast of Columbia, Mo.
Mexico has some outstanding dart players who have been waiting quite awhile for organized darts to return to their city. Over the years attempts have been made to organize darts on a local level which were to no avail. When league rep Mel Vilt appeared in town he was surprised to be met with such open arms!
First on the agenda was locating a Division Representative (DR) to assist in recruiting darters. This was an easy task as everyone recommended the same person, John Maylee, Jr. who quickly scheduled an Orientation Meeting at the end of December. With local sponsorship from Anheuser Busch wholesaler Golden Eagle Distributing of Hannibal a start date of January 10 th was established.
When the start date rolled around a Captain's Meeting was held prior to the start of league play. John apologized for only being able to get a 5 team division started, but stated he knew that this area was ripe and the next session would indeed bring forth many more new teams. We are thankful to John and the dart players of Mexico for they have proven to be top caliber players, and we look forward to the growth in this area.
